Although having professional household movers come in to do the packing and moving relieves you of lots of stress, there are some things they cannot take care of.

First of all, consider the stress that you are feeling. Your children and pets are feeling it too. Perhaps in a different way - but it's there just the same. Do what you can to ease their stress. Take them to visit the new home as often as possible before the move. The idea is to allow them to begin feeling comfortable in the new environment.

Include your children in discussions about the move when appropriate. Allow your pets to be in the midst of the move if possible. It can be alarming to them to suddenly walk from a closed off room out to find an empty house and then be led to the car only to find that they never again return to their 'home'.

Let friends and relatives know your new address and phone number. Consider having a goodbye party. These are all things that are meant to make the move easier emotionally - and your professional household movers cannot help with that!
